狗流口水是怎么回事

一、生理原因

1、天气炎热

由于狗狗的汗腺不发达，所以在天气炎热的夏季或者周围环境温度较高时，就主要通过蒸发唾液带走身体的热量，所以就会出现流口水的情况。此时，主人可以将狗狗带到阴凉通风的地方休息，并给狗狗提供充足的饮水即可。

2、食物引诱

当狗狗被食物引诱的时候，唾液腺会分泌旺盛，所以就会出现流口水的情况，这属于正常的条件反射不需要治疗。

3、食物刺激

狗狗吃了苦瓜、辣椒等刺激性食物，或者是舔食了消毒水等刺激性的物品，会刺激唾液的分泌，从而导致流口水。这种情况就建议主人给狗狗提供足够的饮用水，并停止喂食该类食物。

4、换牙期

当狗狗处在换牙期的时候，由于牙齿的生长会刺激唾液腺，所以就会产生更多的唾液，在加上幼犬的吞咽功能还未发育完全，可能不怎么会吞咽口水，所以才会一直流口水。在狗狗换牙期间，建议主人给狗狗准备一些磨牙棒或者玩具，这样可以避免狗狗乱咬东西。

狗狗患有口炎、牙周炎、口腔溃疡等口腔疾病，也会导致流口水，同时会伴随食欲降低、牙周红肿疼痛、进食困难等症状。此时主人可以用手轻轻将狗狗的嘴巴掰开，检查口腔黏膜及牙龈的情况，并咨询宠物医生确定具体病因，然后再采取相应的治疗措施。

2、中毒

如果狗狗比较贪吃，不小心误食了巧克力、葡萄、洋葱等食物，或者老鼠药、蟑螂药、蚊香等有毒物质，就会出现流口水的症状，同时还会伴有精神沉郁、食欲废绝、呼吸加快、四肢无力等症状，发展到后期还会出现抽搐的神经症状。一旦发现狗狗出现以上中毒症状，需要立刻将狗狗送去宠物医院治疗，否则狗狗很可能会有生命危险。

3、狂犬病

如果狗狗除了流口水外，还伴随有恐光、恐水、无差别的攻击人、抽搐等行为，很可能狗狗已经感染了狂犬病。此时，一定要跟狗狗保持好安全距离，避免被狗狗误伤。

4、口腔异物

如果有异物卡在狗狗的口腔，一般会出现过度流口水、不停的吞咽等症状。如果是异物卡在牙齿上，就需要用工具将异物取出，但如果是不易操作的部位，就需要及时将狗狗送到宠物医院让医生处理。
